Hiya, I’m Fibria.

I started out in IT support. Again and again I saw capable people struggling, not because they didn’t understand, but because the software was working against them. That’s a design problem, and once I saw it, I couldn’t unsee it.

Since then I’ve completed an MA in UX Design (with distinction) and spent over two years at design studios, working on everything from research to final UI for clients in electronics, the public sector and more.

I grew up speaking Indonesian, and now I design in English. That’s made me careful with words: I always question whether something that seems clear to me will be clear to someone else.

• Research, even on a tight budget. Interviews, surveys, UX audits, and reading what real users say online when no one’s asking them.
• Accessibility from the start. Built into design tokens and patterns, not checked at the end.
• Clear communication. I annotate decisions and present the reasoning, so stakeholders and developers stay aligned.
• Working within constraints. Back-end limits, existing frameworks, multiple build teams: I design for what can actually ship.

Why in-house: at a studio, I usually hand over and move on. I want to stay with a product after launch, see how people use it, and keep making it better.

I grow my own food, crochet colourful jumpers, read political books and document my travels. Variety in how I spend my time makes me a better designer, and the jumpers are the proof.
